At the break of dawn, people in cycling apparel ride their bicycles along the lakeside cycling track in Yangchenghu Peninsula Tourist Resort in SIP, adding a beautiful stroke to the poetic landscape of the area.

It is a common scene in the cycling activities frequently organized by Suzhou Lingdong Sports Culture Development Co Ltd, a company growing from a small bicycle store founded by Sun Fengchang, a cycling enthusiast.

The company set up its headquarters in SIP in 2023 to deal with retail of bikes and parts, repair of bikes, wholesale of sports goods and equipment, and organization of sports activities.

Currently, the company runs eight outlets in Suzhou, including four in SIP, with a sales growth of over 50% for three consecutive years.

“There are thousands of people from all walks of life in our cycling club,” Sun said, showing the pictures of various activities in his handphone.

“Cycling turns strangers into friends,” he added.

Sun said SIP provides excellent conditions for cycling, citing the cycling tracks along Jinji and Yangcheng lakes. He disclosed that more stores are expected to be opened at neighborhood centers and business centers in SIP in the future.
