Shen Mi, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of the CPC SIP Working Committee, met with Xue Songhai, secretary of the general Party branch and chairman at Haixi (Fujian) Institute of China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology Group Co Ltd (CAM), and his contingent on July 22.

CAM, directly supervised by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, is a domestic leader in foundational and generic technology R&D for the equipment manufacturing industry. Haixi (Fujian) Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of CAM, specializes in research on core technologies of industrial machine tools.

During the meeting, SIP and Haixi (Fujian) Institute signed an agreement, under which the latter will build a semiconductor equipment research and manufacturing base in SIP with an investment of about RMB200. The project is expected to come into operation in October, with annual sales estimated at RMB200 million after reaching the designed capacity.
