The latest session of the BioMatch Series, a program initiated in SIP early this year for the purpose of promoting transfer and transformation of biomedical technologies from universities, took place on the bank of Jinji Lake on July 11, bringing together elites engaged in research at over 10 top universities at home and abroad and leading experts from the biomedical sector.
At the event, the teams from the University of Oxford, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong Baptist University, National University of Singapore, Monash University, University of Queensland, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and other universities presented over 20 projects including those focused on high-value compound synthesis and biomimetic organs.
The jury panel gave comments and advice on these projects from different perspectives such as technological maturity and market prospect, hoping to help optimize the paths for the outcomes from the projects to be commercialized.
The event also included an award ceremony where the winners of an earlier competition of 50-plus biotech projects from around the country received awards along with support in various forms, such as rent-free offices, subsidy for proof of concept and money reward for young talents.
