Recently, a barge carrying containers containing automobile rear axles imported from Germany glided into the terminal at SIP Port, marking the success of the port’s first CCA (connected carrier agreement)-based transportation of imported goods.
Commissioned by King Long United Automotive Industry (Suzhou) Co Ltd, the shipment departed from the Port of Hamburg, Germany, transited via Yangshan Port, Shanghai, and was ultimately delivered to the company’s factory in SIP after completing customs clearance at SIP Port.
The CCA-based transportation mode allows multiple parties to collaborate in multimodal cargo transportation to improve the logistics efficiency and reduce the cost. The launch of such transportation mode has diversified SIP Port’s foreign trade services, transitioning from a single export model to one covering both export and import.
