The exhibition themed “A Room in the Crowd” kicked off at Jinji Lake Art Museum in SIP on July 12, and will be free to the public till Oct 12. On display are over 80 illustrations by Chinese illustrator and visual artist Icy Tan.
The works, created by the artist between 2015 and 2025, portray everyday life scenes in 10 countries including China, Japan, the United States, Chile, Peru, Mexico and Egypt. With vivid brushstrokes and soothing colors, the artist has transformed overlooked fragments of everyday life into timeless artistic moments, guiding the visitors on a decade-spanning visual journey across these countries.
The art creation of Icy Tan revolves around life itself. Whether it is the vivid representation of a grand celebration, or a simple but delicate sketch, all of the works convey a deep concern for ordinary individuals’ living conditions.
